Cruise ship CALEDONIAN SKY visits West India Dock

Visiting West India Dock from Wednesday 9th May to Saturday 12th May 2012 was the small Cruise Ship CALEDONIAN SKY. Her departure from London was her maiden voyage with her new owners Noble Caledonia. She will join her almost identical sister ship ISLAND SKY operating niche tour cruises around the World whilst offering luxury accommodation and a fine dining experience.

Her maiden cruise departed London on the "Spring Garden and Bird Quest" cruise, on a tour taking in the gardens and bird life of Northern France, Channel Islands and Scilly Isles.

Built in 1991 as RENAISSANCE VI, she was originally one a fleet of Renaissance class cruise ships for the once very popular and now defunct Renaissance Cruise Lines. Of note it is interesting to see that she will join her original Renaissance sister ISLAND SKY which was originally built as RENAISSANCE VIII. She then had various owners and names but was most recently known as the HEBREDIAN SPIRIT operating niche cruises for the Hebredian International Cruise Line up until 2008. Her last and most interesting role saw her owners, reported to be connected to the Dubai Royal Family, turn her in to an 80 guest luxury Super Yacht named SUNRISE.
